Shayan is a climate leader and sustainable development expert from Mauritius who leads global sustainability initiatives at the United Nations while driving local environmental change in his home country. As the UN's Sustainable Consumption and Production Youth Constituency Thematic Focal Point for Sustainable Construction and Development, Shayan shapes international policy through his work with the UNFCCC, where he co-authored the Loss and Damage Fund Plan and served on the Article 6.4 Mechanism Expert Panel. In Mauritius, Shayan transformed urban sustainability as an Urban Researcher for his town and is currently serving as Youth Ambassador for the Ministry of Youth Empowerment & Sports. A published researcher in climate change, sustainable development, and AI applications, Shayan is also advancing climate education as co-founder and Vice-Chancellor of the Climate Solution International Academy. His work made him the first certified AGNES Negotiator in Mauritius' history and the youngest pre-university graduate in Africa to hold this distinction.
